Casement windows are hinged on the side and crank open outward to the left or right allowing for full top to bottom ventilation. Common above kitchen sinks, casement windows give you the flexibility to group them in stunning combinations.
Double-Hung windows have two operating sash that moves up and down allowing for ventilation on the top, bottom or both. Single-Hung windows allow ventilation through a single operable lower sash. Both offer easy cleaning from inside your home and remain flush with the wall, making them ideal for patios or walkways.
SINGLE AND DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS
These windows are stationary and do not open. This makes them more energy efficient and allows for larger sizes than a window that vents. Often used in combinations to maximize the view.
FIXED AND PICTURE WINDOW
Awning windows are hinged on the top and open outward from the bottom, allowing for ventilation and protection from the rain. Often placed higher on walls for privacy or in combination with large stationary windows for a better view.
Horizontal Slider windows open with the sash sliding left or right. Some people find a sliding glass window easier to open and close than a crank-style window. Since they slide open without protruding, horizontal sliders are an excellent choice for rooms facing walkways, porches or patios. Horizontal slider windows are a favorite for contemporary style homes and are also popular for satisfying bedroom egress requirements. In a single slider, one sash slides to open. In a double slider, both sashes slide open.
HORIZONTAL SLIDING WINDOW
Bay and bow windows are created by combining three or more windows together so that they angle out beyond the house wall. They can be casement, double-hung or picture units depending on the need. By using more windows, bay and bow windows allow more light in and also give you extra space inside your room.
